Coalition pushes world poverty issue

Former Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad and former Lt. Gov. Sally Pederson helped launch the Iowa ONE Vote '08 campaign, which is designed to mobilize caucus goers and push U.S. presidential candidates to make the fight against global poverty and disease a key foreign policy and security issue during next January's first-in-the-nation Iowa precinct caucuses.

Branstad said more than 20,000 Iowans already have committed to talking with candidates and voters about America's role in the world and what the next president can do to save lives and secure the future.("...")
