You Against Poverty: The One Vote '08 Campaign;

[CC] 00:08:51 The average American would agree that fighting poverty should have a good effort, but it may not get top priority with the war in Iraq. Today, two former senate majority leaders kicked off the campaign to try and change this. There are co-chairing One Vote 2008, an offshoot of the nonpartisan One Campaign. I spoke to them by asking them how they wanted to get voters to care about global poverty.
But they are so worried about other issues. Frist: I know there are many competing issues out there, but we are at a unique point in time, there are low-cost solutions and tuberculosis and hiv aids. Today, I'm convinced that the American people back in Tennessee will listen. We need the opportunity to say that most of the hospitals have no access to clean water, there is something that we can do that is cheap and mean something. It is a moral imperative. 00:16:58
